The only thing bilingual in this lovely series of books are their titles. Each of these board books features colorful and engaging photographs that illustrate the title theme using no text. colors + flavors presents gorgeous fruits that look so delicious that the audience could reach into the page to eat them. Adults could ask children to describe the many flavors suggested here. More abstract, stripes + arrows show photos of those shapes in primarily urban environments. red + green features juicy watermelons, a cactus decorated with red ribbons, and Mexican salsas; circle + square focus on pebbles, bubbles, and patterned table-cloths, among other things. In all titles, the creative and imaginative images, provide a unique view of the world, an important feature that sets them above the run-of-the-mill board books. An excellent choice for school and public libraries.
